I am a Srilankan , who is currently employing in middle east. i am really impressed with your blog and the noble work you are involving.
I do love my country as any other right thinking citizen.

Since I have been in mid east for years, I know the immense value of its flora and fauna, which we can exploit to the benefit of the country , with out harming it in any way whatsoever.

I am well aware of the potential of attracting the Arabs, who are immensely rich in material stuffs, yet utter poor in natural beauties.
This is the area, where we can step in to fill that void, with out any fear.
I am sure our natural beauty, the rivers, jungles , mountains, water falls, magnificent wild life etc..are at far with any other or a step ahead of most of the countries.
I just want to know, how can I help you people in this noble endeavor. I do love to contribute in a way, which I can afford to do.

This is because I love my country and to the people such as you, who are rich in human qualities.

Best Regards,

Upali K.

there are two ministers (with deputy)for wild life and another for environment, but all the jungles including highly protected national parks are rapidly destroying. what a shame, a wild life department cannot erect the electric fence with a court order. to release theses 2 elephants many have been took part but no one to actual protection.

The Govt needs to monitor the movements of these herds and create reserves according to their movements.
I agree with Vajira, there are many young tuskers in these herds, almost all of them are young adults not yet in full maturity.

But i need to disagree with the statement about parakrama. I was there when he was captured and that is in the Galgamuwa region and nowhere near Kalaweva.

Thank you Dr Tharaka for clarifying that the carcass was burnt AFTER the post mortem. The information received by me was to the contrary.....

Tharaka Prasad comments: just for update your knowledge on why they burning elephant carcass ?, after performing postmortem examination and other legislation procedures by DWC. The putrefying carcass of elephant need to buried or burnt to prevent health hazards of general public who lives around, specially where death take place at village. so DWC instructed to Gramasewaka to distroy the carcass and reimburse the expenses through the divisional secretary.
thanks for your understanding....
